Jim Bone

Rock, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz Punk, Funk & Gospel

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, with four years spent in Germany thanks to his dad, an Army doctor, Jim Bone is an eclectic and multi-talented musician who has journeyed through various genres including Rock, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz Punk, Funk, and Gospel. After finding his way to Salt Lake City and immersing himself in ski training for the Winter Olympics, he relocated to the Sierras of Northern California, where he became immersed in the charismatic and diverse music and culture of the West Coast psychedelic and punk rock scene. Returning to Salt Lake City, Jim's musical endeavors flourished as he co-founded bands like Burial Benefits and Skin N’ Bones before joining Little Women as a drummer. Later, alongside fellow songwriter Jerry Joseph, he formed the Jackmormons, contributing to their legacy of captivating performances and diverse musical influences. With his thriving social work practice, Jim's passion for music remained undimmed, leading him to form Purdymouth and produce three records with friends such as Derrek Wright. Currently, with his band, the Dig, Jim Bone continues to captivate audiences nationwide, channeling the spirit of a multi-generational movement rooted in Americana and fueled by a love for music in all its forms.
